Useful smartphone Apps

Thanks to the digital world, traveling to France and behave like a local has never been easier (well at least you won’t be struggling with a giant paper map standing in front of the Moulin Rouge, wondering how to get to the Opéra!)

Here’s a few smartphone apps comes in handy for your trip.

RATP SNCF_Voyages

RATP -The essential public transportation apps for Paris and outer Paris, it covers all railroad network within Paris (RER and metro lines), tramway, bus and night bus. In the apps, you may find schedule, suggested routing, interactive railway map and stations information too, a MUST have apps to browse around the city of Paris.

Voyages-SNCF -An application for all the Grande lines train of France (trains connecting different cities). With this apps, you may search and book your train ticket and even save your boarding pass to passbook (for iPhone) or get your e-ticket boarding pass in QR code format, so you don’t have to bother with validating your paper ticket each time you hop on the train, nor losing your ticket.

As most of us doesn’t carry a European credit card, this apps save you from running around the train station and trying to print out your ticket, as most (almost 100%) of the ticketing machine at the train station doesn’t recognize International credit card, even though they might speak multiple languages.

Michelin EUR -A complete restaurant searching guide, not only list the Michelin awarded restaurants, but those with incredible comments. Search by the surrounding area, read the comments post by previous customers and you certainly find where to eat for dinner with ease.
